Our shows are hosted in honor of W. Gary Baker.
Mr. Baker was a member of the Virginia Horse Shows Association and the National Show Hunter Hall of Fame. He bred and trained steeplechase horses along with ponies. Mr. Baker bred eight horses who went on to win USEF Horse of the Year titles in multiple divisions. He was part of multiple USEF and U.S. Hunter Jumper Association committees and was passionate about the horse world and his dedication earned him a USEF Pegasus Medal of Honor in 2007. He was a wonderful addition to the equestrian community and will be missed.
As of January 2015, Mr. Baker was added to the USEF Honor Roll of Distinguished Officials to recognize his commitment and service to the horse show world.
